Jean Marc et Mathieu Crochet Sancerre Rouge 2022
Seductive nose offering fruity aromas (morello cherry, strawberry, cherry) combined with vegetal notes (mugwort). Supple on the attack, the palate evolves on tannins that are very present but not excessive. The aromas of red fruits are confirmed with a slightly milky finish.

The Winery
Jean-Marc and Mathieu Crochet are an exemplary father-son duo in the world of wine, embodying the essence of the Sancerre terroir. Their family estate, located in Bué, is among the top appellations in Sancerre, encompassing 12 hectares of vineyards.Perched atop a limestone ridge, the estate benefits from a North-South exposure, ideal for their vineyards. The vineyards are primarily planted with Sauvignon Blanc, along with a small amount of Pinot Noir. They produce a masterful Sauvignon Blanc, elegant reds, and a refreshing rosé. The Sauvignon Blanc vines thrive on ‘caillottes,’ a soil rich in fossilized limestone mixed with clay, contributing to the freshness and minerality characteristic of the Bué terroirs. The resulting wine is a taut, very dry, and mineral-driven Sancerre with a straightforward expression.
Jean-Marc and Mathieu Crochet’s wines beautifully balance tradition and innovation, respecting the soil and classic techniques while embracing modern methods to achieve remarkable quality.
Each of their bottles tells a story of passion, family, and deep respect for the Sancerre terroir.
