Le Sang des Cailloux translates to “The Blood of the Stones” in English.
Serge Férigoule acquired Le Sang des Cailloux in 1990 after working for a decade with the previous owner. Immediately upon taking over, he ceased the use of chemical weedkillers and synthetic products, shifting towards more sustainable practices.
The estate spans 17 hectares in the Vacqueyras appellation, situated on a plateau facing the Dentelles de Montmirail. In 2003, his son Frédéri joined him, and together they sought organic certification, eventually progressing to biodynamic farming.
The reddish-brown clay-limestone soil and the famous galets roulés impart terrific intensity and depth to the wines. Given the aridity of the soil, the vines here are naturally prone to lower yields, which contributes to the concentration and power of the wines.

Le Sang des Cailloux primarily produces red wine. In recent years, Serge and Frédéri have also begun experimenting with white wine production. The Cuvée Traditionnelle is named after Serge’s daughters, Floureto, Doucinello, and Azalaïs, while the “Vieilles Vignes” is also known as “Lopy,” named after his hometown.
