Château des Eyrins is a small chateau owned by the Gonet-Médeville couple. It is surrounded by the renowned vineyards of Château Margaux, Château Lascombes, and Château Palmer, with two hectares adjacent to Château Margaux vines.
In 2008, the young couple purchased the vines from Eric Grandeur, whose family had been winemakers at Château Margaux for three generations. The vineyard boasts typical Margaux geology, with granite layers extending 22 meters underground.
The two winemakers aim to express the terroir and produce wines with plenty of fruitiness and suppleness, dividing the grapes into plots and making Burgundy-style wines. With the completion of a winery equipped with modern facilities, Château des Eyrins produces a classic Margaux: dense and deep, with incredible finesse and freshness. The wine undeniably expresses the identity of this glorious appellation.
Chateau des Eyrins is a three-hectare jewel in Margaux. Acquired from a family who were cellar masters for Ch. Margaux for three generations, it is a testament to winemaking excellence, showcasing impeccable balance, structure, and depth. With a typical blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, these wines offer a symphony of flavors ranging from dark fruits to subtle oak nuances. Each sip reveals the estate’s dedication to crafting exceptional wines in an exceptional appellation.
