Hand harvested. Traditional vinification in concrete vats with daily pumping over, 100% destemming of the grapes. Aged for 12 months in foudre. Biodynamic and Ecocert Organic certified.
Vacqueyras, located near the Dentelles de Montmirail, benefits from a Mediterranean climate and diverse soils like clay-limestone and stony terraces, which add complexity to its wines. Known for their robust character and ability to express the unique terroir, Vacqueyras wines are often considered an affordable alternative to neighboring appellations like Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas, offering exceptional quality and distinctive style.

Decanter (90/100)
“A fine, delicate style, light in tannin, with high acidity. Lovely piercing freshness and crunchy redcurrant fruit, finishing with some bay leaf bitterness.”
James Suckling (92/100)
“If you find it hard to imagine how Southern Rhone wines can smell of Mediterranean herbs then you need to try this very striking Vacqueyras. It marries the herby character with a full body, crisp tannins and a zesty freshness. Quite serious dry tannins at the bold finish.”The Winery
“Le Sang des Cailloux” translates to “The Blood of the Stones” in English.Serge Férigoule acquired Le Sang des Cailloux in 1990 after working for a decade with the previous owner. The estate spans 17 hectares in the Vacqueyras appellation, situated on a plateau facing the Dentelles de Montmirail. The reddish-brown clay-limestone soil and the famous galets roulés impart terrific intensity and depth to the wines. Le Sang des Cailloux primarily produces red wine. The Cuvée Traditionnelle is named after Serge’s daughters, Floureto, Doucinello, and Azalaïs, while the “Vieilles Vignes” is also known as “Lopy,” named after his hometown.
