An elegant Pommard with the aroma of cranberry, herbs, and a hint of tobacco and violets. Medium-bodied, firm but delicate, with chewy tannins. It pairs well with red meat dishes in sauce and Burgundian cheeses.
Aged for 18 months in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels.
The Winery
Run by Michel Caillot since 2006, this 13-hectare domaine was established by his father, Roger in 1967 in the prestigious Meursault appellation. Michel believes in minimun intervention in the winemaking process and uses very few sulfites. He employs long fermentation and aging periods, releasing his wines much later than other vineyards. He doesn’t depend on œnologues, but makes an honest interpretation of each vintage. He uses no herbicides and the domaine is labelled Culture Raisonnée (sustainable practices).
Michel’s wines have a distinct house style. The reds are smooth and supple with pure berry and cherry aromas, round tannins and a crisp, clean finish.
