Situated on the summit of the first gravel hill north of Langon, with a view over the Garonne valley. The three-hectare vineyard is spread out around the château on a mosaic of terroirs in the heart of Graves. The Merlot is planted on gravel mixed with sand on a bed of clay.
The Winery
Located in Preignac, within the Graves appellation of the Bordeaux wine region, Château Respide-Médeville is a distinguished estate in the remarkable portfolio of Julie and Xavier Médeville.
Julie’s father, Christian Médeville, brought Château Respide-Médeville into the family estate in 1984, positioning it in the heart of the Graves region. Today, Julie and her husband carefully produce exceptional Graves Blanc and Rouge from the sandy, gravelly clay soil, allowing the purity of the fruit to shine through.
The dry Graves Blanc is fermented in stainless steel, with a brief aging period in oak barrels, and is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. The Graves Rouge is composed of approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot.
