Produced only in the finest vintages and in limited quantities, Le Plateau de Mont-Redon has incredibly deep aromas of Mediterranean herbs, savoury, and dark chocolate. Vineyards & Vinification

The grapes comes from plots chosen on the famed Le Plateau de Mont-Redon, the high plateau of galets roules. These large stones up to 2 metres deep combine with fine safre (sandy soil) over thin layers of clay, which provide important water holding capacity, providing an ideally moderate supply of water. The plateau sits high and is exposed to the sun and the Mistral wind gives an optimal ripeness and sanitary state for the vineyard.

WINEMAKING & MATURING

Hand harvested and sorted in the vineyard before arrival at the cellar. The berries are fully destemmed, then pass over anoptical sorting table before crushing. A cold pre-fermentation maceration of 2 to 3 days, followed by extended skin contact by pigeage for 15–20 days. Ather the malolactic fermentation, 2/3 of the wines are aged in Burgundian barrels (50% new) and 1/3 are aged in stainless steel for 19 months. After the ageing, a strict selection of the best lots is made to compose the final Le Plateau blend. The final blend wine then rest on fine lees for a further 16 months in tank before bottling.

The Winery

Established in 1344, Château Mont-Redon stands as one of the oldest and most prestigious estates in the Southern Rhône Valley, and today remains the largest producer of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Spanning 186 hectares, with 100ha of vineyards in the northwestern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The estate benefits from the three key terroirs of the region: the iconic rolled pebbles of the plateau, compact sandy safres, and Urgonian limestone. This rare combination of terroirs, along with low yields, is the foundation of Mont-Redon’s signature complexity, consistency, and quality.

Château Mont-Redon blends tradition and innovation to produce a diverse range of Southern Rhône wines. Their Côtes du Rhône wines are fresh and ready to enjoy. Lirac wines express terroir and complexity early, while Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines benefit from aging and develop with time. Their top cuvée, “La Plateau,” stands out for its exceptional concentration and depth, reflecting the finest parcels of the estate.

Fine Wine Reserve is the exclusive distributor for Château Mont-Redon in Hong Kong S.A.R. and Macau S.A.R.
