Vineyards & Vinification

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is blended of four native grape varieties, planted on sandy, clay-limestone soils with large white pudding stones. The vineyard of Chateau Mont-Redon spans 100 hectares across the region’s classic terroirs.

WINEMAKING & MATURING

Grapes are harvested at perfect maturity following validation through tasting of the berries. Harvest is always manual, allowing for precise sorting of the berries in the vineyard.

Whole cluster pressing in pneumatic presses. Natural cold settling (10-12°C) and slight fining with bentonite. Vinification at constant low temperatures of 14° to 16 ° C. Duration of fermentation: 3 to 4 weeks minimum. Malolactic fermentation is not processed to preserve the natural acidity and freshness of the aromas.

Maturing on fine lees in vats for 4 to 8 months depending on the vintage then bottling.

In the press

Jeb Dunnuck | 93 points
“Bright apple, citrus, and minty herb notes all emerge from the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc, a rocking little white that has medium-bodied richness, a juicy, lively mouthfeel, and an undeniable sense of salty minerality on the finish.”

The Winery

Established in 1344, Château Mont-Redon is not only the largest producer of Châteauneuf-du-Pape but also one of the oldest estates in the Southern Rhône Valley, with a rich and extensive history.

Mont-Redon spans an impressive 186 hectares, with 100 hectares dedicated to vineyards. The estate also owns vineyards in Lirac and the Côtes du Rhône appellation.

Situated in the northwestern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Mont-Redon benefits from the three key terroirs of the region: the iconic rolled pebbles of the plateau, compact sandy safres, and Urgonian limestone. This rare combination of terroirs, along with low yields, is the foundation of Mont-Redon’s signature complexity, consistency, and quality.
