Situation: Surface area of 8.5 hectares on ancient sands, sandstone and iron dross scoria in one parcel, another part on gravel. A portion of the vines are situated on the Saint Christophe des Bardes plateau and the rest are situated on the plateau of Saint Etienne de Lisse.
Some of the Clos de la Cure vines share the same soil composition as Château Cheval Blanc—gravel and clay with iron-rich deposits and limestone bedrock—densely planted at 6,600-9,000 vines per hectare.
