Château Mont-Redon
Château Mont-Redon is not only the largest producer of Châteauneuf-du-Pape but also one of the oldest estates in the Southern Rhône Valley, with a rich and extensive history.
The estate’s name originates from the Romans, who were inspired by the distinctive topography of the “round mountain” at the property’s base, calling it Montem Rotundum, which evolved into Mont-Redon.
Mont-Redon spans an impressive 186 hectares, with 100 hectares dedicated to vineyards. The estate also owns vineyards in Lirac and the Côtes du Rhône appellation.
Situated in the northwestern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Mont-Redon benefits from the three key terroirs of the region: the iconic rolled pebbles of the plateau, compact sandy safres, and Urgonian limestone. This rare combination of terroirs, along with low yields, is the foundation of Mont-Redon’s signature complexity, consistency, and quality.
